8. Huashan Mountain
Mount Huashan may not be the most spectacular mountain in the world, but its gravity-defying plank ride in the sky is certainly unique! At the end of this horrible trail, you’ll find a tea house (it’s China, okay?), but to get there, you’ll have to cross the most dizzying and dangerous path on the planet.
7. Retba Lake
Have you ever imagined swimming in pink water? Well, even if you haven’t, you can definitely go to Senegal and do it in the soft pink waters of Lake Retba in Dakar. The lake owes its particular color to Dunaliella salina seaweed, a particular type of plankton, and certain minerals. It is possible to swim in the lake safely, so don’t forget your swimsuit!
6. Blood falls
Antarctica is home to many wonders, but we rarely hear about the frightening drops of blood! They are particularly bizarre and menacing in the middle of this beautiful white environment covered with ice and snow. The fall of blood owes its beautiful red color to the presence of huge amounts of iron in the water. It’s the same process that makes the iron rust!
5. Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain
Siete Colores Mountain, also known as Rainbow Mountain or simply Vinicunca, is a colorful wonder of Peru that few people know. It is very difficult to reach, but once at the top, you will be rewarded with a view that few people have seen with their own eyes.
