7. Refined grains
Refined grains are stripped of the outer shell, removing nutrients. It can be “enriched.” The enrichment does not make up for the refining. Refined grains include white flour and rice. Your body easily converts refined grains into blood sugar and then into belly fat.
Avoid white flour – cakes, bread, pasta, breaded food – there are too many to mention.
Eat whole grains (not whole grains). In a recent study, people who ate whole grain products did not show the same increase in belly fat as the refined grain eaters.
